Speaker: Berta Lockhart

Topic: Cemeteries of the Athens Asylum

Over the years, many people were treated at the Athens Asylum
from several counties, including Scioto. Some died there and for
various reasons were never claimed. For decades they lay buried
under a stone with only a number on it. The group Friends of Athens Asylum is working to identify and provide headstones for those buried there. A recent PBS documentary highlighted the work they are doing.

Location: Lucasville Library

Time: 1:00 pm

Everyone is welcome! Bring A Guest!

Meetings are free and open to the public.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
